4 Days to Africa!! It has not hit me yet at all. I haven’t even thought about packing.. oops? Wanted to give you an update of what has been happening this week!
Last night we had a Prayer Party at my house thanks to a wonderful idea produced from friends. I was so beyond grateful that we could come together as believers and love on each other through prayer. They poured out their thoughts to God for my trip & blessed it in every way possible. Seriously I am so so grateful for the friends and community God has given my in Fayetteville. I love this place!
I got all the shots I need today!! Wahoo!! I came in with a list of 8 and we dwindled it down to 3: typhoid, yellow fever & Hep A. (Don’t worry guys.. I have already had the other 5. I am not neglecting them :) ) If you know me, I used to be a big chicken when it came to needles.. but I took these like a champ! Ohhh yeah. Arms are a little sore so guess I can’t do dishes tonight.. darnnn it. (sly smile. hehe)
Lastly, I am over 75% of the way done on my fundraising goal! WOW! I am seriously so humbled by the generosity show to me through family, friends & strangers that believe in a powerful mission. This trip could not happen without these people and am beyond thankful. I cannot wait for y’all to journey with me on this trip and I am excited to keep everyone updated while I am there. If you haven’t had a chance to check my fundraising page out, you can go to https://www.purecharity.com/a-vision-for-change to learn more about who I am going with and what I will be doing. (Also check out other projects! I used to intern with Pure Charity and it is an AMAZING site helping to make a huge impact on this world!) $473.00 to go! Yeeyuhh!
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed.” – Isaiah 55: 10-13
